Budget win for Lynbrook and Lyndhurst

By Eleanor Hopkins

Lynbrook, Lyndhurst and Cranbourne residents are the big winners out of Casey Council’s budget for the next financial year with most of the big-ticket items in their neighbourhood.

The council will spend $6.4 million to build an oval, pavilion and tennis courts in Carlisle Park, Cranbourne North, $4.5 million to build a community centre at Lynbrook and $6.6 million to complete the football and cricket ovals at Marriott Waters estate.

The budget’s big items include:
Construction of Carlisle Park oval and pavilion, and tennis courts.
Construction of a community centre and hall in Lynbrook.
Construction of the Arbourlea Family and children’s centre in Cranbourne North.
Completion of the football ovals, pavilion and netball courts in Marriott Waters Estate.
Design of the Selandra Rise family and children’s centre

And finally, road improvements including the construction of a second entrance at Casey Fields and construction of a pedestrian crossing at Evans Road.

Mayor Amanda Stapledon said “With 120 people moving into Casey each week, meeting the needs of Casey’s continued growth, including services for an ageing population and maintaining additional parks and open spaces, continues to be the council’s priority.”
